The New Walden Athletic Complex was constructed for Atlanta Public Schools and the students at Grady High School. The project consisted of the demolition of the existing Austin Thomas Walden Middle School building and the construction of a new athletic complex on a 6.27-acre site. The complex includes a baseball/softball field, a competition field, a state-of-the-art field house with concessions, storage, and office spaces, and new parking lots and sidewalks.
